Systems and Cognitive Therapy are foundational in Susan's work. She calls upon Motivational Enhancement Therapy for addictions and is ever mindful of the Rogerian foundation of unconditional positve regard. Her style is interactive and she will challenge clients to move out of their comfort zones toward attaining their desired outcomes. Self-care, self-esteem, and self-love are strong themes in her work with women. In Susan's work with teens, she will almost always call upon heavy family involvement with the underlying belief that typically, the "family unit" is in need of healing. Her philosophical intent here is this: No one person in the family is to blame. But, all family members are responsible for the solution.
